Wood Chipping on the Garvey Farm

Garvey-B&A We recently heard from a very happy DR Chipper owner in the far-off land of Black Creek, Wisconsin (far-off from us here in Vermont, that is).  Michael Garvey uses his 16.5 DR Rapid-Feed Chipper to clean up parts of the 40-acre Garvey Farm and turn them into useable farmland.

He says, “The Chipper is really used to help turn the undeveloped land into useful space. I really was impressed with the flywheel bearing supports, weight, and balance of the cutting/chipping system. One can really tell by the smooth operation at full RPM and the overall run-down time when the engine is shut down. Other machines I have used before were heavy on vibration and skimpy bearing support.  The very best option is the wide feed chute along with the self feeding design of the cutting blade. If the business end of the tree or brush fits into a four inch square hole, the rest of the branches will follow right behind it. Not having to pre-trim the branches, as is required by most other chipping machines, saves me tons of time and labor.  I bought the 16.50 Pro with electric start, but pull starting the engine is so easy. Take it from a 61 year old, you have a great machine!”

He also loves the free mulch that comes with chipping all his branches and limbs.  And who wouldn’t?  You can mulch your garden and flower beds with it, use it as animal bedding, and so much more.

Thanks to Michael and the rest of the crew at the Garvey Farm for writing in!
